Dear Diary by Blogger XML Skins
While this is not such a recent theme, I discovered this after writing the 101 excellent Blogger templates post and really wanted to share this beautiful design!
Download includes: A zip file containing only the template code. To upload this to your blog, you will need to paste this into your Edit HTML section in your Blogger dashboard, replacing the content which is already present.

Modern Paper by TemplateGodown
A clean and simple theme with two sidebars to the right of the main column. The header section features an RSS icon for linking to your feed.
Download includes: a zip file containing only the XML template. To upload this to your blog, you will first need to save this file to your computer. Then go to Template>Edit HTML in your Blogger dashboard, and choose to upload this file by clicking on the "Browse" button near the top of the page.

The Erudite Template by Jashan of The Erudite Blog
I was quite impressed with this template. Neat and clean with a single sidebar to the right, this template also features social bookmarking links after each post, and a customizable RSS message to help encourage readers to subscribe to your feeds. You can also choose from seven different header images to use!
Downloading this template: on the download page, you will need right click the download link and choose to save this XML template directly to your computer. However, there are very detailed instructions for installation on the download page itself.

ReplyDeleteI was really impressed to see what you've done to the template! I love how you configured the tabbed widget in the sidebar, this makes such great use of the space available there.
Your design is a perfect example of the design which can be achieved using a Blogger blog. As I keep telling people, there are very few design techniques which cannot be achieved using Blogger (and even those, I'm working to find a solution for...). In the near future, I'd love to showcase Blogger blogs of such excellent design quality so with your permission I'll certainly include Spoiler TV!

For Wildcatlady: When using Firefox, there can often be a problem in the page elements section as parts of the blog elements may be pushed to the right of the screen.
ReplyDeleteIf you scroll down in your actual browser window (rather than on the page itself), you should be able to see a horizontal scroller right down the bottom of the page. This will enable you to scroll right to alter your sidebar or other page elements through the widgets.
Which template are you using to have this problem? For most of my own templates, I do add some code to the template which prevents this problem from occurring, though other designers may not be aware of the technique.
If you would like to know more about this, take a look at this page which offers instructions of how to deal with this. Feel free to email me anytime if you need more specific advice about this too.
